It was late afternoon when I and Isabel hit the road. We stayed in Palm Springs which is several miles or so away from the park and we meandered our way to a local lunch spot for some sandwiches and coffee before driving into the park. Oh, Joshua Tree, the land of never-ending yucca trees and a whole bunch of rock formations. We couldn’t wait to visit. After driving through the desert we finally pulled over for a walking adventure. Though I’ve seen some desert landscapes before, nothing compared to the view we found here which reminded us more of Mars than any place on this earth. The endless sky, the colors sweep over and deepen the drama, the sculptural nature of rocks, the light and the curious shapes of shadows dancing through the valley - we were enchanted with all this unbelievable beauty.
